Scope
A client may appoint GX Cogen for generation, storage, efficiency or carbon on its own, or for an integrated plant. The commercial value is calculated for the scope that is approved, not for technologies that are not required.
Approach
GX Cogen delivers generation, storage, efficiency and carbon projects separately or together. The appointment can be a feasibility study, a design, an installation, an operations contract, energy as a service, or a scope agreed between those.
GX Cogen reviews interval data, the tariff, thermal demand and the efficiency measures available. Generation and storage are sized on the load that remains. The study states the saving, the capital and the conditions under which the project should not proceed.
Electrical, thermal, structural and controls design covers only the technologies in the approved scope. Storage and backup are included where the duty cycle and the cost of an interruption justify them. Metering is specified at this stage if emissions value is part of the return.
Equipment is purchased to the specification: modules, inverters, storage, heat plant, efficiency equipment and housings. Civils, electrical and mechanical works run to testing and commissioning against the performance criteria.
Dispatch, a service level and planned maintenance are set to the yield, the savings and the degradation assumed in the financial model. Variances are reported in time to correct them.
Shared savings, lease, power purchase or results-based capital is selected while the design can still be adjusted. The client can also fund the asset directly. Payment terms follow the metered energy, the measured saving, or the verified reduction.
Value is a lower energy cost, capital that is justified, and performance in later years that still matches the model used to approve the project.
Client names are not listed on this site. Relevant project experience is discussed against a specific enquiry.

The same technology can be delivered as a feasibility study, a design, a supply and installation, an operations contract, or energy as a service. Intermediate scopes, such as design and procurement support, are contracted in the same way.
Cost reduction, avoided capital and any carbon revenue are stated with the meter data and the assumptions behind them. Constraints on the grid, the structure, the chemistry or the methodology are recorded in the study.
